Belfast Venues

  • You can access the venue from the main entrance at 2 Royal Avenue or from the rear entrance at Bank Square.
  • There is an accessible toilet on site.
  • Wheelchairs are available for our guests visiting the venue. These are free of charge to borrow but are on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • The venue has a sensory dome for visitors with sensory issues or anyone who needs a quiet play space.
  • There is light and sound display within the dome and fidget toys and headphones are available on request.
  • This venue is dog friendly and assistance dogs are permitted across all areas.
  • Visitors can access a quiet room if they need to.
  • The venue entrance is on flat ground for easy access for those with accessibility needs.
Getting There: You enter the venue from Royal Avenue through large blue double doors. You then walk through a corridor with a shallow incline, and handrails on both sides. The Ledger Studio is the first door on the left. You can park outside on Royal Avenue if you have a Blue Badge. There are two Blue Badge spaces 30 yards from the front door. The closest bus stops are outside Belfast Central Library and Craft NI. Inside the Venue: The Ledger Studio is on one level. There are no steps at the entrance. The space will be set out with chairs and tables. There are two bathrooms along a corridor (on the same level as the venue): one is a large accessible bathroom. There is another large accessible bathroom with a changing table and hoist across the corridor. Additional Information: We can provide an outlet for powered wheelchairs (advance notice is necessary). We have a quiet space available upon request. Bounce Festival volunteers will be on hand to provide assistance. Some have training in British Sign Language, visual and deaf awareness, and audio description.

Entry: You enter The Black Box from Hill Street. There is step-free access and automatic doors. The closest accessible parking is at St. Anne’s Cathedral. This is 0.2 miles from the Black Box. You can ask a taxi to drop you off outside the door. 

Inside the Venue: There are two accessible toilets. One is in the main venue space. The other is in The Green Room Bar. The building is all on one level.

Additional Information: Carer/personal assistant tickets are free, if you need support when visiting the venue. You can bring medication, food, or equipment into the venue. Assistance dogs are welcome (advance notification is necessary). You can request ear plugs.

Entry: You enter The Crescent from University Road. There is step-free access via automatic doors. The nearest accessible parking is X. 

Inside the Venue: You can access all areas via ramps and lifts. All the doors are wide, and most of them open automatically. There are accessible toilets on every floor. There is a Changing Places facility on the ground floor. There is Tactile Signage in important places in the building. All the signs are made to be easy to read.

Additional Information: The Crescent team is trained to use Evacusafe chairs. There are induction loops at reception and in The Cube, and also two portable loop systems. Assistance dogs are welcome.

Entry: You enter The Duncairn from Duncairn Avenue. There are two disabled parking spots on the grounds. These need to be booked in advance. The entrance is on the same level as the street. The doors are automatic.

Inside the Venue: There is a café and accessible toilet on the ground floor. The performance space is upstairs. You can access it by stairs or lift.

Additional Information: Different events may have different seating arrangements. You can get in touch if you have seating requests. Assistance dogs are welcome. You can bring any medicines, food, or equipment to the venue.

Derry Venues

Entry: Access to the Centre for Contemporary Art is via Artillery Street. There are parking spaces on the left, next to the city walls. The closest car park with wheelchair accessible spaces is in Carlisle Street. It costs 60p per hour. Inside the Venue: The gallery space is fully accessible for wheelchair users and there is a wheelchair accessible toilet in our venue. Additional Information: The Centre for Contemporary Art has a Rogers pen and MyLink receiver for visitors to borrow during their visit. You can ask a member of staff in the office for more information. Anyone with autism who is planning to visit can download an information pack. Entry: You enter Void Arts Centre from the Strand Road on Waterloo Place. The entrance is on the same level as the street.

Inside the Venue: There is a ramp inside the door, which leads to the foyer, front desk, and gallery spaces. All rooms are on the same level. The fully accessible toilet can be accessed from gallery space 2.

Additional Information: There will be attendants who can help with any questions. A quiet space is available. If the gallery space is too loud or too dark, you can ask for ear defenders or a light at the front desk. Bounce Festival volunteers will be on hand to provide assistance. They have training in BSL, visual and deaf awareness, and audio description.
