Saturday 7 September
1pm - 2.30pm
Flax Art Studios - Green Room
A physical, ritual and imaginative workshop drawing on Afro diasporic ritual actions as a way of accessing intuitive movement and group intimacy and research into the neuroscience of sensory perception towards connecting the sensory and the imaginative. We will explore centres of movement linked to revolution, release and empowerment alongside exercises of sensory deprivation and immersion towards understanding the inner and outer worlds.
This workshop is for participants aged 18+ and is particularly aimed at people of the African diaspora and people of colour, but is open to all. This will be a physical workshop – please bring clothes suitable for movement and we will work in our bare feet. Places are limited to 15, so please book early!
The concept of Lady Vendredi was originally co-created by Nwando Ebizie and Jonathan Grieve.
