Our Privacy Notice

The University of Atypical for Arts and Disability is the operational name for the Arts and Disability Forum. We support  d/Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists and audiences in creating and accessing creative arts in Northern Ireland. We are a membership organisation and value input from our members in the shaping our work.

We are updating our membership and subscriptions to our mailing list and want to let you know about some changes in data protection. 

Please let us know that we don’t have the correct contact information for you and let you know how we use it. 

Below we have listed some options for you to consider.

SUBSCRIBE TO OUR MAILING LIST: When you subscribe to our mailing list, you will receive updates, find out about events and opportunities by email.

UNSUBSCRIBE TO OUR MAILING LIST: We don’t want to say goodbye but we are aware that sometimes people like to change their minds about what they have subscribed to in the past, and you can choose to opt out at any point

What you are consenting to when you subscribe to our list? 

That you are happy to be added to our mailing list and to hear about what we do via email. We will send not more than one a week, usually.  

We promise to never spam your account with junk mail. 

We promise not share your personal information,  

We promise to comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and your right to privacy is engrained in what we do. 

You can opt out of our mailing list and request that your information be erased from our system. 


Google Analytics

When you visit www.universityofatypical.org we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. Third Parties
We may share anonymised personal information gathered in our feedback forms with other organisations, particularly Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Belfast City Council. They use it to analyse our audience demographic, audience development and the impact of our programme/s. We do not trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer laura@universitofyatypical.org


Changes to this Privacy Notice

We will review our privacy policy in accordance with changes in data legislation.
